Job Description:

Be a Director, Social Channel Lead - CPG

Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking a Director, Social Channel Lead with deep paid social expertise and experience supporting complex CPG businesses. This person will lead social strategy across home care and related portfolio initiatives, translating business goals, audience insights, creative needs, and retailer connectivity into clear, actionable plans.

The Director will lead paid social strategy within an integrated CPG environment, partnering across strategy, activation, commerce, analytics, creative, operations, and client leadership. This role requires a strategic thinker who can connect social recommendations to broader media plans, business priorities, measurement expectations, and commerce opportunities.

The ideal candidate is accountable, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with the ability to guide the full social workstream from planning through launch, optimization, reporting, and client communication.

We value our culture above anything else, and that culture is built on the spirit of our people. We’re looking for tireless optimists, happy warriors and fearless collaborators who bring that extra dose of contagious energy.

The Opportunity:

As Director, Social Channel Lead, you will be responsible for:

Social Channel Ownership

Lead paid social strategy across assigned CPG campaigns, including recommendations, plan development, activation oversight, and performance narrative.

Define the role of social across the funnel, including awareness, engagement, consideration, traffic, retail influence, ecommerce connectivity, and learning agenda support.

Translate brand and business objectives into platform priorities, audience approaches, creative considerations, budget recommendations, testing plans, and measurement expectations.

Develop proactive social POVs, partner recommendations, platform updates, beta opportunities, and optimization opportunities aligned to category and campaign needs.

Integrated Planning and Ways of Working

Lead social inputs across annual, long-range, and cycle-level planning, including strategy development, tactical planning, creative requirements, launch readiness, reporting, and learning closeout.

Partner across strategy, activation, operations, analytics, creative, commerce, retail media, and account leadership to keep social integrated into the broader media and business strategy.

Create clarity across cross-functional handoffs by defining required inputs, timing, owners, risks, and next steps before launch.

Broader responsibilities include:

Team Leadership and Talent Development

Social Strategy, Commerce Connectivity and Innovation

Performance, Measurement and Client Storytelling

Team Leadership and Talent Development:

Team Leadership

Lead the paid social team across planning, launch, optimization, reporting, partner management, and client communication.

Develop talent through coaching, feedback, platform education, stretch opportunities, and broader business context.

Identify training needs and build scalable ways of working, playbooks, templates, and best practices.

Social Strategy, Commerce Connectivity and Innovation:

Social-First Strategy

Build social strategies that connect consumer, shopper, ecommerce, and retail behaviors across the CPG journey.

Partner with commerce and retail media teams to identify opportunities across retail connectivity, audience learning, creator or affiliate opportunities, shoppable experiences, and commerce-informed strategy.

Evaluate platform and partner opportunities against business objectives, category relevance, creative fit, audience value, measurement feasibility, and operational complexity.

Innovation and Partner Opportunities

Evaluate social-first activations, creators, influencer or affiliate extensions, social search, social commerce, platform betas, and culturally relevant content opportunities.

Lead social POVs and recommendations for platform tests, added value, brand lift studies, creative amplification, and retail-connected social opportunities.

Translate learnings from tests, campaigns, partner programs, and performance reviews into future planning implications.

Performance, Measurement and Learning Agenda:

Measurement and Optimization

Partner with analytics and measurement teams to define social KPIs, learning questions, test structures, reporting needs, and optimization guardrails.

Ensure reporting tells a clear performance story, including what changed, what worked, what was optimized, and what is recommended next.

Use platform data, audience insights, creative learnings, performance results, and commerce signals to improve future planning.

Client Communication and Executive Storytelling

Serve as a trusted senior social voice for client stakeholders, clearly communicating recommendations, risks, tradeoffs, and next steps.

Develop executive-ready summaries that communicate progress, recommendations, and strategic implications in language clients can act on.

Lead or contribute to status updates, performance reviews, partner results reviews, QBR inputs, planning workshops, and client follow-ups.

Our expectations of you:

We’re looking for a strong connector who can lead paid social with confidence, strengthen the broader team, and keep cross-functional work moving. This person should be comfortable partnering across client teams, social activation, commerce, creative, analytics, and account leadership.

You will bring rigor, clarity, and inspiration to paid social planning, helping the team deliver sharper platform POVs, stronger test-and-learn thinking, more connected commerce recommendations, and clearer performance storytelling.

Overall, we will look to you as a persuasive social expert and client partner who can guide operational execution and help CPG clients understand how social drives awareness, consideration, retail influence, learning, and business momentum.

What you’ll need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant post-secondary education, training, or equivalent experience.

7+ years of business experience, including 5+ years building, managing, or leading paid social accounts in social marketing, digital media, or interactive advertising.

Experience supporting CPG, home care, retail-connected, or multi-brand portfolio work preferred.

Deep understanding of the paid social landscape, including Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Snap, Reddit, YouTube Shorts, creator amplification, brand lift studies, platform testing, social commerce, and emerging social search behaviors.

Strong understanding of how social connects to ecommerce, retail media, creative readiness, audience strategy, reporting, and integrated campaign planning.

Polished presentation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.

Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to sell and deliver value to clients and internal stakeholders.

The outcomes we will celebrate:

Success in this role will be reflected in strong client relationships, clear social ownership, integrated plans, strong launch readiness, actionable platform and commerce learnings, clear performance storytelling, effective partner management, and a paid social team that is confident, proactive, and connected to the broader business.

Who you’ll partner with:

You’ll work closely with the paid social team, assigned CPG client teams, strategy, activation, operations, analytics, creative, commerce, retail media, and client leadership.

Beyond your immediate team, you’ll also partner with broader digital activation, search, programmatic, commerce, retail media, analytics, creative/content, and partner teams.

What you can expect:

The opportunity to help shape modern paid social leadership for a complex CPG business.

Meaningful influence across strategy, activation, commerce connectivity, creative requirements, measurement, and client communication.

The ability to bring forward new ideas, test emerging opportunities, and help continue to grow the digital offering.

A collaborative environment where social connects with creative, commerce, retail media, analytics, and integrated planning from the start.

A place that cares about your personal passions just as much as your work.
