Summary
The Digital Marketing and Website Manager oversees FVCC’s website, ensuring an engaging, user-friendly experience that supports student enrollment, community engagement and institutional goals. This role manages website updates, structure, and content while ensuring accessibility, SEO optimization and brand consistency. Additionally, the position tracks and analyzes marketing data, providing insights to improve digital strategies, enhance user engagement and support decision-making.
Essential Duties
Website Management and Optimization
Serves as the primary contact for day-to-day updates and maintenance of the college’s website, ensuring functionality, accessibility and ease of navigation.
Manages the development, design, and ongoing improvements of all aspects of FVCC’s website to enhance user experience and engagement including edits and updates, new content creation and clean up, and maintenance.
Aligns website content with the college’s established brand and communication strategies, ensuring consistency across all pages.
Monitors and enforces brand standards, creating and maintaining an in-house web style guide based on best practices. Helps departments understand website standards, content best practices and analytics insights.
Creates, writes, edits and manages web content in collaboration with marketing team members and campus colleagues.
Monitors web analytics, conducts usability testing and troubleshoots technical issues to maximize site performance and user experience.
Manages and optimizes FVCC’s Google Business listings.
Ensures compliance with WCAG AA standards, SEO/AEO best practices, and other web regulations.
Updates and installs mandatory third-party plugins and maintains links to other databases.
Digital Marketing and Campaign Support
Plays a key role in developing, managing, and analyzing digital newsletters and email marketing campaigns to effectively engage students, donors, and the community.
Supports Meta advertising efforts, including campaign setup assistance, tracking, reporting, and audience coordination.
Reviews campaign performance data and makes recommendations based on engagement, conversions and user behavior.
Data and Analytics
Manages and monitors website and marketing analytics.
Builds recurring reports that summarize website traffic, campaign performance, user behavior, referral sources, conversions and other key metrics.
Interprets data and provides clear insights.
Tracks campaign landing pages, forms, advertising traffic and other digital marketing initiatives.
Supports UTM strategy, goal/conversion tracking and reporting consistency across marketing channels.
Maximizes SEO strategies to increase the college’s online visibility and search rankings.
Stays informed about professional trends and ethics in telecommunications technology and applies industry best practices to website management and digital marketing efforts.
Marketing Operations and Automation
Builds, maintains and troubleshoots marketing workflows using tools such as Clickup, Zapier, Google Forms, Google Sheets and related platforms.
Supports internal processes that rely on forms, automated notifications, lead routing, data collection and reporting.
Identifies opportunities to reduce manual work through automation and improved process design.
Maintains clean, organized systems for tracking campaign assets, form submissions, website requests and marketing operations projects.

Cross trains to perform other departmental and team functions; backfills for staff as needed
Actively participates in the development of a climate that promotes and supports innovation and efforts to continuously improve services to students, faculty, and the College

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, web development, marketing or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution AND a minimum of three years of experience managing content and production for high-traffic websites; OR,
Associate’s degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, web development, marketing or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution AND a minimum of five years of experience managing content and production for high-traffic websites; OR,
An equivalent combination of higher education in computer science, IT, systems engineering, web development, marketing or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution AND a minimum of five years of experience managing content and production for high-traffic websites
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, web development, marketing or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution AND a minimum of five years of experience managing content and production for high-traffic websites
Work experience in a public organization
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to explain data, technical concepts and process recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with WordPress administration, custom post types, taxonomy structures, redirects, forms, plugins and basic troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
Experience managing websites through a content management system, preferably WordPress.
Ability to represent the college professionally in various interactions.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and similar editing tools.
Familiarity with Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Data Studio and GA4.
Ability to use WordPress and other website content management systems.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
Strong and effective communication skills.
Proficient computer skills in applicable systems and software.
Experience with digital marketing best practices.
Knowledge of web analytics tools and usability testing methods.
Ability to work within policies and procedures of FVCC
Ability and willingness to serve as an ambassador for the College by interacting appropriately with the college community and community

This is a Medium Duty job, according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles, U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Medium Duty involves exertion of 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
