Purpose and Scope
To support the Diocese of Phoenix in its mission to Encounter the Living Christ, the Digital Content and Social Media Manager produces timely and engaging content for Diocese of Phoenix websites, social media channels and television - including graphics, copy, and video - and assists Diocesan offices in developing and maintaining their digital content online. This position also assists the department with its internal and external communications strategy and fulfillment.

- Develop and support a robust and creative digital media strategy, including scheduling, to engage the faithful and drive evangelization.
- Experience in planning and managing search and paid social campaigns, including strategy development and building budget recommendations.
- Manage content and resources on Parish Toolbox.
- Lead the delivery and reporting of insight-driven social media analytics to inform future planning and direction.
- Monitor all social platforms for user engagement and feedback.
- Stay current on emerging media landscape and current trends.
- Support the Communications team with production of video and audio content as needed.
- Assist Diocesan offices, parishes, schools, and affiliated organizations in the promotion of their various events and initiatives, including paid and organic campaigns.
- Manage livestreamed news and/or events.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Well versed in using a computer and social media platforms, including Meta, WhatsApp, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Well versed in managing livestreaming events.
- Excellent grammar, writing and copy-editing skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Ability to deal with confidential matters and use discretion with sensitive matters.
- Must possess a thorough working knowledge of the Catholic Church.
- Must be able to attend occasional night or weekend meetings, events, or Masses; assist in providing public information in time of emergency.
Preferred Skills, but Not Required
- Proficiency with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Lightroom and Photo Mechanic.
- Videography and photography skills.
- Knowledge of industry standard video hardware (cameras, lighting, teleprompter, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
- Active practicing Catholic in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field, plus demonstrated professional experience in effectively managing digital content and social media.
- A minimum of five years of related professional experience highly preferred.
- Valid AZ driver’s license and the ability to travel to other locations within the Diocese for work-related duties.

- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
