About the Role

As Copywriter Lead, you will be World Vision New Zealand's leading voice in written communication. You will work across supporter and media channels to craft content that informs, inspires, and drives action. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on writing, working closely with our Marketing Production and Go-to-Market teams. You will also use AI-powered tools to deliver high-quality content at speed and scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and refine high-performing content across campaigns, channels, and supporter journey stages.
  • Select and craft compelling stories and assets from content libraries to deliver the best outcomes for each campaign brief.
  • Lead audience-driven content development that attracts, educates, and converts target audiences.
  • Embed AI tools into content writing, ideation, and process automation to increase capacity and speed.
  • Champion World Vision NZ's tone of voice and brand storytelling across all written outputs.
  • Coach and uplift internal teams' writing capability and brief development skills.
  • Manage and oversee content delivery from external creative agencies and freelancers.
  • Ensure all written assets are accurately tagged, stored, and available for reuse.

About You

  • 4+ years of proven copywriting and editing experience, with the ability to craft compelling, on-brand content that motivates action.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent voice, tone, and messaging framework across campaigns, formats, and audiences.
  • Proficiency in using AI-enhanced writing tools, content tagging systems, and project management platforms.
  • Ability to interpret briefs, collaborate with subject matter experts, and translate complex ideas into accessible content.
  • Experience directing and managing content delivery from external creative agencies.
  • Attention to detail with high standards for brand and messaging consistency.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising and supporter engagement principles (desirable).
  • Experience working in fundraising, advocacy, or purpose-led communications (desirable).
  • Familiarity with content performance analytics or A/B testing to inform iteration (desirable).
  • A collaborative and positive team player who thrives in a mission-driven environment.

  • Based in Penrose, Auckland
  • Full-time, Permanent position. 37.5 hrs per week.
