Riester SonoranJob Details: Job Location: 3344 E CAMELBACK ROAD - PHOENIX, AZ, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Copywriter (Midlevel)
Phoenix, AZ | Full-Time
Everyone creative
The people we are looking for are curious and ambitious, and they hold high standards for everything they make. They’re comfortable being uncomfortable. They love being part of the entire process and understand that the value we bring to our clients is in our creativity.
About Riester
Riester is an independent, award-winning advertising agency with more than 35 years of storytelling experience and offices in Phoenix, Park City, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC. Our team of creative thinkers, strategists, and analysts helps brands connect with audiences in meaningful ways. From promoting sustainability and public awareness to driving lead generation and business growth, we create marketing that delivers measurable impact.
Our Mission
For more than 35 years, Riester has inspired people to take action on issues that matter. We believe that purpose and performance belong together, and we are looking for people who share that commitment to create marketing that makes an impact.
About the Role
You’ll be writing for two resort and gaming brands that share an owner but not a personality. They compete in a category where most brands sell the same energy. Your job is to give each one its own voice and make both impossible to mistake for anyone else’s.
You’ll report to the Creative Director leading the account and partner with an art director from day one. One week might be TV scripts, the next OOH headlines, with social, radio, and on-property work in between. The resort and gaming account is your home base, and you’ll contribute across Riester’s civic, public health, and corporate clients as the roster calls for it.
What You’ll Do
Concepting & Campaign Development
- Concept integrated campaigns with your art director partner, from first idea to the deck that sells it
- Develop platforms and campaign lines that work across every placement, not just the hero spot
- Pressure-test ideas against the brief and the brand before they go up the ladder
Writing & Execution
- Write broadcast and streaming scripts (:30, :15, :06), radio, OOH, print, digital display, paid and organic social, web, plus on-property and experiential copy
- Translate one idea across multiple formats
- Edit your own work closely for logic, redundancy, and tone
- Write within regulatory guardrails, including responsible-gaming standards, without letting them flatten the work
Production & Collaboration
- Carry ideas through production with art directors, designers, producers, and account teams
- Attend shoots, VO sessions, and edits, and protect the idea from casting through final cut
- Present work internally and to clients with clarity and conviction
- Take feedback well, push back with reasons when it matters, and revise quickly
Qualifications: What You Bring
- 3–5 years of copywriting experience, preferably within an advertising agency
- A portfolio that shows campaign thinking: ideas that hold together across multiple placements
- Produced broadcast work (TV, streaming, or radio)
- Strong OOH and short-form writing
- Experience writing for social platforms in their native formats
- Strong presentation and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines without lowering the bar
- Experience in hospitality, gaming, entertainment, or tourism is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, English, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary and benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO)
- Hybrid flexibility and a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Dog-friendly offices
- A supportive culture that values curiosity, teamwork, and growth
- Opportunities to work on meaningful campaigns that make a difference
- Exposure to a diverse mix of clients, industries, and media channels
