Job Summary

The Copywriter develops written content supporting NARMC's marketing, public relations, internal communications, patient education, provider and service-line marketing, Foundation initiatives and community outreach.

Working within established marketing strategies, communication priorities and brand standards, this position researches, writes, edits and adapts content for internal and external audiences. The Copywriter collaborates with providers, department leaders, subject matter experts and the Marketing & Public Relations team to translate healthcare and organizational information into clear, accurate and audience-appropriate communications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop written content supporting marketing strategies, campaigns, public relations initiatives and organizational communication priorities.

Write, edit and proofread content for websites, social media, email, newsletters, digital signage, direct mail and other digital and print platforms.

Develop copy for advertisements, brochures, rack cards, flyers, signage, campaigns and promotional materials.

Apply marketing and advertising principles to copy development, including audience targeting, communication objectives, key messaging, positioning and calls to action.

Draft press releases, media announcements, provider announcements, organizational updates and other public relations materials.

Develop provider biographies, service-line descriptions, clinic content and other materials promoting NARMC providers, programs, services and locations.

Create patient- and community-facing content that explains healthcare services, procedures, programs and resources in clear and accessible language.

Develop internal communications, including employee announcements, leadership communications and organizational updates.

Interview providers, employees, patients, leaders, community partners and other sources to develop feature stories, testimonials and original content.

Research assigned topics and gather information from appropriate sources to ensure content is complete, accurate and relevant.

Collaborate with clinical and operational subject matter experts to verify medical, technical and organizational information before publication.

Adapt content for different audiences, communication channels and formats while maintaining consistent messaging, brand voice and communication standards.

Develop messaging for websites, radio, presentations, campaigns and special projects.

Assist with communications supporting North Arkansas Medical Foundation fundraising, donor relations, sponsorships, events and impact reporting.

Develop communications related to new providers, programs, services, partnerships, community initiatives and organizational awards.

Review and update existing content for accuracy, consistency, brand alignment and effectiveness.

Collaborate with graphic designers and other Marketing & Public Relations team members to ensure written and visual elements work together to support communication goals.

Maintain working knowledge of NARMC providers, services, locations, strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.

Manage multiple projects, assignments and deadlines while adjusting priorities based on department and organizational needs.

Perform other related Marketing & Public Relations duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required

Minimum of four years of professional experience in copywriting, communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field.

Professional experience researching topics, interviewing sources or subject matter experts, and developing original written content.

Experience with public relations, digital content, organizational communications, marketing communications or comparable professional communications work.

Portfolio or work samples demonstrating professional writing ability across multiple formats, including work professionally produced, published or used by an organization, publication, agency or client.

Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and grammar skills.

Strong research, interviewing and information-gathering skills.

Ability to translate technical or complex information into clear, audience-appropriate content.

Ability to adapt writing style, tone, structure and level of detail based on audience, purpose and communication channel.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to factual accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities and deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and cross-departmental collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently while operating within established strategic direction, messaging and approval processes.

Sound judgment when handling confidential and proprietary information.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree or higher in communications, journalism, English, marketing, advertising, public relations or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

Experience developing copy for marketing or advertising campaigns, including audience targeting, positioning, message strategy and calls to action.

Experience collaborating with graphic designers, marketing professionals or creative teams on integrated campaigns.

Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, agency, corporate communications or another complex organizational environment.

Experience developing both short-form marketing and advertising content and long-form editorial or organizational communications.

Knowledge of HIPAA, patient privacy and healthcare communication requirements.
