Description

The Content Creator produces original, audience-focused content that brings the UK Agri-Tech Centre’s work to life across internal and external digital channels. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the role creates written, photographic, video and designed content for the website, newsletters, email campaigns and social media. Working closely with commercial and programme colleagues, the postholder identifies strong stories from farms, events, projects and business operations, then turns them into clear, useful content for agri-tech businesses, farmers, food producers, retailers, investors and other priority audiences. The role manages content from initial idea and capture through to editing, approval and publication, using mobile equipment and a wide range of content creation and design tools. It also works with supplier agencies when additional support is required. Through timely, engaging and consistent content, the role will extend the Centre’s reach, increase engagement, direct potential customers towards relevant services and opportunities, and contribute to the growth of commercial income.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan, create, edit and publish original written, photographic, video and designed content for the website, newsletters, email campaigns and social media.

  • Work with commercial, programme and engagement colleagues to identify content opportunities that support campaigns, services, events and organisational priorities.
  • Capture content at farms, events, facilities and business locations across the UK, using mobile phones, microphones, lighting and related production equipment.
  • Adapt content for different channels and audiences, ensuring it is clear, accurate, accessible, on-brand and consistent with the Centre’s tone of voice.
  • Manage content from brief to publication, including scheduling, permissions, approvals, asset storage and coordination with supplier agencies.
  • Monitor content performance and audience response, using evidence to improve future content, extend reach, increase engagement and direct potential customers towards relevant services.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

· Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with experience producing clear and engaging content for websites, newsletters, email and social media.

  • Proven experience creating and editing short-form video, photography, graphics and other digital assets for external audiences.
  • Advanced practical knowledge of content creation, design and editing tools, with the confidence to learn and champion new platforms.
  • Skilled in using a mobile phone and related hardware—including microphones, lighting and stabilisers—to capture high-quality content in varied locations.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms, channel requirements, audience behaviour and good practice in digital publishing.
  • Excellent planning, relationship-building and project-management skills, with experience working across teams and briefing or managing agencies and suppliers.
