Communications Consultant (12 Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Are you a skilled communicator who can turn complex information into clear, engaging communications that make a real difference?
Join our Member Experience team as a communications consultant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Based in Darlington with hybrid working, you'll help create communications and campaigns that support our members in understanding their pension and planning for the best possible retirement.
Working across a range of digital and print channels, you'll translate complex information into communications that are clear, accessible and focused on delivering better outcomes for our members.
Who we are
Railpen is responsible for the safekeeping and investment of around £36 billion in assets and the administration of several pension schemes, including the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the UK's largest and longest established pension funds.

The role
In this role, you'll create and deliver communications that help members understand their pension and take the right action at the right time.
Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll develop and improve communications across key member journeys, campaigns and change initiatives. You'll use insight, feedback and performance data to continually improve how we communicate with members, ensuring every communication is clear, accurate and easy to understand.

The person
You're an experienced communications professional with excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. You're comfortable creating communications across multiple channels and enjoy taking complex information and making it easy for people to understand.
You enjoy working with stakeholders, subject matter experts and project teams, balancing multiple priorities while consistently delivering high-quality work. You're also confident using feedback, insight and performance data to continually improve communications and member outcomes.
