Summary Job Description

Covenant Day School is seeking a Communications and Marketing Content Creator. This is an associate-level position responsible for producing compelling visual and written stories that advance the school's marketing and communications efforts across digital and print platforms in support of Covenant Day School's mission. In partnership with the Communications and Marketing Director and the Brand Manager/Graphic Designer, this position plays a key role in bringing the school's marketing and communications strategy to life through creative storytelling, photography, videography, writing, and content development. Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Director, this is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position serving Monday through Friday on a twelve-month calendar.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with the Communications and Marketing Director to implement the school's internal and external marketing and communications strategies through compelling visual and written storytelling.
  • Capture and produce high-quality photography and videography that showcases the Covenant Day experience for use across marketing and communications channels. Leverage creative skills, imagination and originality to design and share content that is engaging and inspiring in alignment with the Covenant Day mission and vision.
  • Manage Covenant Day's social media presence by creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content, monitoring performance, and recommending enhancements to the school's social media strategy.
  • Create compelling visual and written content for newsletters, the website, social media, the magazine, advertising, brochures, and other print and digital publications.
  • Manage and maintain content on the Covenant Day public and internal websites, ensuring information remains current, accurate, and well-organized.
  • Identify and gather stories, news, and content opportunities by building relationships across the school community and occasionally attending evening and weekend events.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, coaches, and administrators across all school divisions to plan, create, and promote content that highlights life at Covenant Day School.
  • Own planning and logistics for photography and video shoots.
  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects, including capital campaigns, fundraising efforts, and other school-wide marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors, consultants, and other partners as needed to support department projects.
  • Support the administrative functions of the Marketing and Communications Department, including maintaining digital asset libraries, coordinating projects and timelines, assisting with website updates, processing invoices, tracking budgets, and other departmental operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Communications and Marketing Director or the Head of School.

Qualifications

  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ reflecting a desire to serve Him and others in work and life.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, content creation, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience producing compelling photography, videography, and written content across multiple communications platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and strong editing abilities.
  • Creative storyteller with the ability to generate new ideas, identify compelling stories, solve problems, and think strategically.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment while working both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Experience with additional collaboration and project management tools (e.g., Asana) and creative software (e.g., Canva) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing and communications, including social media platforms, email marketing, digital advertising, and website content management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service while building positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, vendors, and other members of the Covenant Day community.
  • Capable of maintaining the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all matters.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds and move throughout campus, including frequent walking and climbing stairs.
