Work available: Approximately 10 hours a week through hockey season

Rate of Pay: $15.00/hr

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Capture and edit photos and video highlights at Union Hockey home games, as well as occasional practices and road games, primarily geared towards use on Union Hockey social media accounts.
  • Lead the design, creation, and execution of the Union men’s hockey suite of graphics for the 2026-27 season, including but not limited to game-day graphics, award graphics, and informational graphics.
  • Complete several long-form video projects, including, but not limited to, pregame hype videos for the videoboard at M&T Bank Center, Mayor’s Cup promotional content, and ADAY4U video assets.
  • Work with the men’s and women’s hockey SIDs to brainstorm, develop and create social media content that promotes Union Hockey and its student-athletes for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and X.
  • Attend collaborative meetings and filming sessions in addition to independent work
  • Meet with Hockey Office Coordinator to prepare content for ADAY4U, end-of-season team banquet, and Garnet Blades events.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience shooting and editing sports photos and videography
  • Photo and/or video editing software (e.g. Adobe Suite, CapCut, Canva, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Enthusiasm for Union College's mission and values.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and under tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding and knowledge of hockey
  • Graphic design interest and experience
  • Passion for communications, marketing, and storytelling.
  • Creating short-form videos for social media (reels, tiktoks)
  • Owns personal camera and video equipment
