Simon & Schuster’s Corporate Marketing division is seeking an Associate Manager, Social Media & Audience Growth to help bring our books, authors, and stories to readers through engaging social content, community building, and audience development.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Social Media & Audience Growth, this role is an integral member of Simon & Schuster's Social Media & Audience Growth team, supporting the day-to-day management of our corporate social channels while helping create compelling content, foster reader communities, and identify new opportunities for book discovery.

Platform Management & Daily Programming:
You'll manage the day-to-day strategy and execution for several of Simon & Schuster's corporate social platforms, including LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, BlueSky, and Instagram Broadcast Channels and Facebook Groups, while supporting broader publishing efforts across the team. This includes:
- Planning, writing, publishing, and optimizing daily social content.
- Maintaining editorial calendars through Airtable and Sprout Social.
- Monitoring platform performance and identifying opportunities to improve engagement.
- Staying current on platform features, trends, and best practices.
Community Engagement:
You'll help cultivate an engaged, welcoming, and thoughtful online community by:
- Monitoring and responding to comments, direct messages, and audience questions across Simon & Schuster's corporate social channels.
- Identifying opportunities to deepen reader engagement and encourage conversation.
- Escalating customer service or sensitive issues to the appropriate internal teams when necessary.
- Sharing audience feedback and recurring themes with the broader Social Media & Audience Growth team.
Champion Books Across Simon & Schuster:
You'll work closely with the Senior Manager and Manager to help readers discover books across Simon & Schuster's publishing program. You'll help:
- Identify opportunities to amplify frontlist and backlist titles.
- Support corporate campaigns that extend imprint and author marketing initiatives.
- Gather and organize marketing assets from imprints and authors.
- Contribute creative ideas that connect books to cultural moments and reader interests.
Create Engaging Social Content:
You'll play an active role in creating and producing content across our corporate channels.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating graphics, photography, short-form video, and written social content.
- Assisting with content capture at author events, consumer festivals, book launches, and other company initiatives.
- Supporting content production alongside the Video Production and Design teams.
- Experimenting with new formats, trends, and storytelling techniques.
Support Audience Growth:
You'll help the team grow Simon & Schuster's online community by:
- Monitoring audience behavior and engagement trends.
- Supporting editorial programming that encourages conversation and book discovery.
- Assisting with performance reporting and audience insights.
- Helping identify opportunities to participate in relevant cultural conversations.
Support Partnerships & Internal Education:
You'll help strengthen both our internal marketing community and external relationships. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the Corporate Social Wiki and platform best practice guides.
- Developing educational resources for authors, imprints, and internal stakeholders.
- Assisting the Senior Manager, Multicultural Marketing with influencer, partnership, and book club outreach.
- Supporting the Social Media All Hands meeting through research, documentation, and presentation materials.
Measure, Learn & Evolve:
Social media never stands still—and neither do we. You'll:
- Monitor performance across your platforms.
- Share audience insights and emerging trends with the team.
- Help identify opportunities to improve workflows and content performance.
- Continuously learn about new platforms, tools, and technologies that strengthen our social media presence.
What You'll Bring:
We're looking for someone who is creative, collaborative, organized, and passionate about storytelling through social media. Qualified candidates will ideally have:
- 2–4 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, communications, or content marketing.
- Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, publisher, agency, or media company.
- Strong writing, editing, and copywriting skills.
- Experience creating social-first content, including photography, graphics, and short-form video.
- Familiarity with social publishing and analytics platforms such as Sprout Social, Airtable, Meta Business Suite, or similar tools.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for experimenting with new ideas.
- A passion for books, publishing, internet culture, and connecting readers to stories.
