JOB DESCRIPTION ASSOCIATE COPYWRITER Creative Department Reports to: Copy Supervisor or Sr. Copywriter
Job Summary
An Associate Copywriter is often an entry-level position within the creative team. In this role, the Associate Copywriter will learn to write imaginative, understandable, and persuasive copy. They may have previous experience at other non-agency, or non-healthcare positions in their core disciplines. They are expected to communicate with internal creative and account teams in a detailed, professional, and timely manner. They will need to follow creative direction and implement copy changes capably, accurately, and efficiently. Additionally, the Associate Copywriter embodies the Calcium+Company core values of commitment, integrity, and respect, both in their work and in their relationships with their co-workers and external clients.
Key Job Responsibilities(Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)
Shows understanding of creative and agency processes
Collaborates with editorial and project management to meet project deadlines
Writes effective copy and annotates manuscripts for submissions and fact-checking as required per Calcium and/or clients’ editorial style
Applies changes to manuscripts as directed by brand team
Develops fundamental knowledge of assigned brand(s) and basic knowledge of science
Learns documentation and information maintenance
Keeps references and backup materials in order, stays on top of manuscript version control, etc
Job Qualifications(Skills/Requirements)
Relevant education or demonstration of skill sets (portfolio)
Ideally previous job experience in related fields
Communication skills, including ability to work with a partner/team
Work ethic and desire to join the team and learn on the job
