The association works to expand student access, success and opportunity, promote world-class teaching and experiential learning tied to career advancement, and support applied research and service that advances economic development and quality of life in communities across the country.EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL EMPLOYEESCommitted to the organizations mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: commitment to diversity and equity, excellence and competence, collaboration, innovation, accountability, ownership, and adherence to policies and procedures.SUMMARY OF POSITIONLeads the creative process from concept to completion of the association's print and digital communications including the artistic direction for AASCU's publications, both print and digital; manages the design expression of the association's visual brand to ensure continuity in all print applications and digital assets;translates marketing objectives into visual design strategies; responsible for leadership in the development, design, and content strategy of aascu.org, its microsites and affinity sites; evaluates emerging technologies and provides thought leadership and perspective for adoption by AASCU where appropriate in support of AASCU's strategic directions.This position supervisors the graphic designer (currently vacant) and reports to the Vice President for Communications and Public Relations.RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops, designs, and managesaascu.org;coordinates every phase of website development and content strategy; works closely with subject matter experts to ensure website content is current; coordinates with appropriate staff in information technology; designs both user-interface functionality and appearance; keeps up-to-date on web technologies and their potential application for AASCU.Directs the creative work and visual branding that includes production of print collateral, email campaigns, HTML promotions, electronic publications and other related editorial and marketing communications. Manages external vendors.Oversees creation, coordination and production of digital projects, specifically in public policy dissemination and AASCU initiatives that support strategic objectives; ensures site aligns with brand strategy; integrates aascu.org with communications and marketing objectives and in concert with branding protocols; works to optimize user experience including improving site navigation.
