Overall Job Purpose The Head of Technical Marketing will build and lead an intermediary marketing function modelled on the successful Discovery approach in South Africa. The candidate will draw on their experience of life and health systems and incentivised health promotion programmes to assist in the development of the VitalityLife proposition, and to translate the workings of the product to intermediaries in the UK. In addition, the candidate will be required to establish VitalityLife as a thought leader in the life insurance market and health promotion to a diverse audience, including intermediaries and key government and non-governmental stakeholders. To do this, the candidate must be able to understand and explain Discovery’s South African and global heritage, and demonstrate the global success of the model at a practical working level Accountabilities Build and lead VitalityLife’s Technical Marketing function based on the successful Discovery Group approach Establish and deliver the annual Technical Marketing plan, comprising a mix of analytical reports, written technical reports, and presentations to various internal and external stakeholders Use recognised and current research methods and statistical approaches to demonstrate the efficacy of the integrated Vitality insurance and wellness model. This must be at a level of complexity and quality capable of publication in respected peer-reviewed journals Use knowledge of mortality, life expectancy and behavioural economics to translate Vitality’s product complexity into easily-understandable marketing collateral Use previously-acquired knowledge of incentivised health promotion programmes and global wellness systems to contribute to the VitalityLife product development process Leverage the Discovery Group’s heritage, experience and data to create a thought-leadership position for VitalityLife in the UK, including at the highest levels in government Represent VitalityLife and the Discovery Group at international industry conferences Serve as the main point of contact between VitalityLife and key partners and intermediaries at the most senior Executive and Board levels Serve as the point of co-ordination between the technical marketing, marketing, product development, and CEO office functions within VitalityLife Skills Required Qualifications Qualified actuary, Masters level in mathematics, or equivalent Experience Life insurance protection experience Prior Work experience in a consulting environment Previous experience in marketing and product development In a marketing function targeted at healthcare intermediaries Experience in operating with Directors, senior executive teams, and Boards Skills Strong analytical skills Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills, and presentation ability Attributes Flexibility, ability to manage uncertainty Results driven and self motivated Able to work effectively as part of a team Working for Vitality, you'll experience an exciting mix of creativity and innovation, within a framework of challenging objectives and a passion for delivering the best.
