Technical SEO Executive

We have an exciting opportunity to join our fast growing SEO team, as a Technical SEO Executive!

As a Technical SEO Executive you will report into our Technical SEO Lead, be supported by our SEO team and become an internal champion for all things Technical SEO. Your primary areas of focus will be managing sitemap and robots.txt file processes across our web estate, redirect mapping, technical crawl audits and actions, management of our Google Business Profile pages across Next, International and Total Platform brands. You will also help support our Total Platform brands and International site migrations.

The role offers great opportunities to learn, grow, collaborate and bounce ideas among our wider SEO Team to solve problems and meet our departmental and business objectives.

You will also work closely on our main Next UK site, supporting all areas of Technical SEO, website platform and URL Taxonomy changes currently at the front of our online technical improvements.

The role will suit someone who enjoys creative problem solving, has a high attention to detail, sees new problems as opportunities for continuous improvement, is proactive in owning things to make them happen, has a good understanding of web analytics & reporting and is strong with manipulating data in spreadsheets.

We can offer hybrid working, 2 days in the office and 3 days remotely. Our office is based in Enderby, Leicestershire.

About the role

• Site migration support with URL redirect mapping
• Sitemaps and robots.txt management
• Help support the Technical SEO Lead with external agency management
• Help support SEO development projects from start to finish
• Identify and work with developers to fix technical bugs and issues
• Google store listings management (Google Business Profile & Uberall)
• Support the SEO Content Team with keyword research and gap analysis, proactively identifying opportunities
• Keep key stakeholders informed, internal and external
• Work closely with wider teams to champion SEO and make sure best practices are met
• Help educate and train wider NEXT teams and key stakeholders on the importance of SEO, best practices and how it impacts their remit
• Generate and support with weekly and monthly reports focusing on key KPIs
• Work with the wider SEO and marketing team on various projects covering all aspects of SEO and digital marketing

About you

• Must have 2+ years Technical SEO experience, within an in-house or agency team
• Working on successful Technical SEO projects for ecommerce sites
• Experienced in conducting keyword research, competitor analysis, Technical SEO audits and highlighting areas of improvement
• Have experience analysing SEO trends and opportunities, providing and implementing recommendations to improve visibility within SERPs
• Local SEO experience and managing store listings
• The ability to communicate effectively to all levels within the business and to external stakeholders
• External agency management
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Experience of using SEO tools such as SEMRush, Lumar (Deep Crawl), Screaming Frog, Pi Data Metrics, Search Metrics, Ahrefs, Majestic, Search Console and Google Analytics
• Experienced in every aspect of SEO, onsite and offsite
• Must have a flexible attitude and the ability to plan and prioritise work
• Be up to date with the latest SEO trends like E-E-A-T, CWV, algorithm updates

Desirable skills and experience

• Experience with large B2C ecommerce sites
• Knowledge of other online marketing channels i.e. PPC, PLAs
• Experience of working with fashion/lifestyle ecommerce sites
• International SEO experience
