Job Overview

The Senior Director of Social & Influencer Partnerships is responsible for crafting and executing strategies to engage customers, meet marketing KPIs, and increase sales across all social platforms. This role involves creating compelling content, managing influencer programs and partnerships, and analyzing performance metrics and results. Macy’s is seeking a creative individual with a track record of delivering business results and innovative ideas. What You Will Do

Strategy and Brand Development

  • Develop and implement social and influencer strategies to engage customers, foster brand affinity, and achieve strategic KPIs (revenue, traffic, new customers) for Macy’s.
  • Define Macy’s social brand voice and personality to align with overarching strategies and business goals, creating a comprehensive playbook to unify teams and approaches.
  • Create and execute innovative concepts that capture customer attention, build relevance through cultural moments, and engage in trending conversations with timely content.

Team and Relationship Management

  • Lead internal and agency teams in developing and executing overarching social and influencer marketing strategies tailored to specific campaign goals and target audiences.
  • Provide strategic guidance to direct reports and team members, optimizing influencer and social strategies.
  • Manage both internal and external content creators, fostering growth and innovation.
  • Grow Macy’s influencer programs, including partnerships with internal Macy’s Style Crew and external influencers.
  • Collaborate with influencers and celebrities during key calendar events, leveraging organizational stakeholders to maximize partnership impact.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, tech providers, and agencies, driving innovation and encouraging calculated risks.

Performance and Budget Management

  • Establish a robust reporting system to communicate insights, performance metrics, and trends to colleagues, partners, and Macy’s executives.
  • Analyze the impact of influencer marketing across brands and regions, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Allocate and manage budgets to optimize brand KPIs and achieve business objectives.
  • Develop a talent rate card based on industry insights and relationships, using it for negotiations and contract execution to ensure consistency and data-driven decisions.

Skills You Will Need

Social and Influencer Strategy Development: Ability to develop and implement effective social and influencer strategies to engage customers, enhance brand affinity, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, traffic, and new customer acquisition.

Brand Development: Skilled in defining and aligning Macy’s social brand voice and personality with overall business goals, creating cohesive playbooks to guide team efforts and unify approaches.

Content Creation and Execution: Proficiency in creating and executing innovative content concepts that capture customer attention, capitalize on cultural moments, and engage in trending conversations with timely and relevant content.

Team Leadership and Relationship Management: Experience leading internal and agency teams to execute comprehensive social and influencer marketing strategies aligned with campaign goals and target audiences. Ability to provide strategic guidance, optimize influencer strategies, and foster growth and innovation among team members.

Influencer Management: Expertise in managing both internal Macy’s Style Crew and external influencer partnerships, including collaboration with influencers and celebrities during key events to maximize partnership impact.

Vendor and Agency Management: Strong relationship-building skills to manage relationships with vendors, tech providers, and agencies, driving innovation and encouraging calculated risks in partnerships.

Performance Analysis and Budget Management: Proficiency in establishing robust reporting systems to communicate insights, performance metrics, and trends to stakeholders. Experience in analyzing influencer marketing impact across brands and regions, identifying areas for improvement, and effectively allocating and managing budgets to achieve business objectives.

Social Media Expertise: Understanding of the competitive social retail landscape, staying updated on social media trends, technologies, and social analytics tools.

Creativity and Innovation: Proven track record of strategic thinking, creativity, and innovation that drives business results, particularly in developing and growing influencer programs and creating quick-turn social content.

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 
  • 10+ years of experience in social and/or digital content creation and publishing. 
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
