Texas Travel Alliance is hiring a Marketing/Communications Coordinator to support the key initiatives of the organization.  This position will be report to the Chief Public Affairs Officer and provide communications, project, and event related assistance across all departments.

General Job Functions

  • Assist with planning and organizing TTA in-person and virtual events including webinars, committee meetings, conferences, dinners, seminars, and more. Provide logistical/administrative assistance at events as necessary.
  • Compose, type, and proofread emails, newsletters, social media posts, reports, letters, memos, statistical and confidential information.
  • Manage the composition and posting of communications calendar content across various platforms, including social media, member correspondence, and website.
  • Assist with preparation and printing of materials for programs and events, including name badges, agendas, and other collateral pieces.
  • Provide general administrative support across the organization as needed, including but not limited to the following: Maintaining calendars, making travel arrangements, scheduling meetings, shipping/mailing items, and general project management.
  • Track down individual/organizational data upon request and compile into reports, training manuals, onboarding materials, project plans or event plans as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries, research information, compile data, or field inquiries appropriately for organization.
  • Support membership growth, including updating information in the CRM.
  • Attend member events as appropriate.
  • Monitor and answers email and phone requests to general boxes.
  • Assist with facilitating all meeting preparations including but not limited to attendance tracking, registration, speaker information, promotional items, invitations, signage, and print production.
  • Attend key committee, board and/or departmental meetings to provide minutes or assist with presentations, as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


Desired Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
  • Social Media experience, savvy user a plus!
  • Project management, marketing, communications knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Experience using YourMembership or other CRM systems.
  • Two (2) years of college from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of travel and tourism industry.
  • Knowledge of research methods. Ability to learn research and data collection techniques.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment and, depending on the individual job requirements, clerical techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of English usage, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships with others.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements include visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard.  Subject to sitting, standing, lifting, and walking to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily a work from home environment with required attendance at periodic offsite meetings and events. Candidate must have transportation to and from offsite meetings/events.
