As a Barclays Marketing Manager Head of Social Media, you’ll be responsible for steering the strategic direction and operational management of the bank’s social media presence for Barclays UK and Barclaycard brands.

This is your opportunity to be accountable for the overall community management, organic social growth, influencer collaboration and adherence to group wide social media governance.

You’ll require a strategic blend of creativity, analytics and leadership that drives meaningful engagement with customers, prospects, and stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing marketing investments for social media and support delivery and oversight of specified business areas to maximize return on investment
  • Providing timely reporting/forecasting of performance through all stages of the funnel, working with internal teams and agencies
  • Working alongside brand, content, and performance marketing teams to support and advise on social media best practise and campaign development and planning
  • Managing the development of briefs/ briefings, including creative, targeting, media and production briefings
  • Driving continual improvement in communication quality, customer and business outcomes, and operational efficiencies
  • Providing oversight and direction through the marketing activation development process to ensure deliverables are aligned to objectives, strategy, and plans
    Collaborating with Barclays Group social media governance teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven track record in a senior social media role, if possible, within the financial services or banking sector – with knowledge of social media platforms, trends, tools (Sprinklr)
  • Excellent mindset proficient in leveraging of analytic tools to derive actionable insights and performance analysis
  • Strategic thinker – ability to challenge, develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with business goals
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining social media governance and ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Leadership skills to manage a team and collaborate effectively across departments and teams
  • Creativity – extensive experience in overseeing social media campaigns with hands-on know how of using digital editing tools
  • Influencer marketing – understand and experience in the role of influencers in social media engagement strategy, including the contracting and governance around them

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
