Greenpeace is an international campaigning organisation with 26 offices around the world. Our vision is a greener, healthier and more peaceful planet. We bring about change by investigating, documenting and exposing the causes of environmental destruction. And we take peaceful direct action to protect our Earth and promote solutions for a green, peaceful and more equitable future.
This Email Marketing Lead role is an opportunity to use the full breadth of your email marketing experience and understanding, managing the quality and delivery of one of our most important communication channels.
The core focus of this role is to look after the health of an email list of 1.2 million supporters and to increase the volume and engagement of subscribers. Overseeing the delivery of our email strategy, you’ll be expected to take an approach that is rooted in data and insight – and that puts the supporter experience at its centre.
Building co-beneficial relationships with a range of colleagues, you’ll lead our cross-departmental email planning group and manage our email schedule, ensuring supporter experience is prioritised and organisational needs including campaigning, fundraising, and volunteering are considered. Using analysis to make data-informed decisions, you’ll develop and implement a testing framework to ensure email optimisation, as well as planning and developing automated email journeys for key segments.
Location: Islington, London. We are currently trialling a hybrid working model to enjoy the benefits of both office based and remote working. The current expectation is for staff to work from the office in Islington at least 40% of their time. Reasonable adjustments to the trial policy as well as specific office based needs will be considered for those with long term health conditions and disabilities.
You’ll have:
- Ability to manage audience-focused email marketing at scale, in a situation where multiple campaigns need to be planned and coordinated concurrently.
- A deep understanding of CRM systems and marketing automation platforms, including audience segmentation.
- Experience of carrying out systematic testing and optimisation of digital communications.
- Data-led decision-making skills, including the ability to draw conclusions from complex data and to communicate and act upon insights.
- Excellent facilitation skills, with the ability to lead planning and decision-making processes, enabling cross-functional stakeholder groups to collaborate.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to anti-racist and inclusive ways of working.
We give you:
You’ll be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, taking advantage of the wide range of learning and development opportunities available to our staff. We offer great benefits such as a generous pension scheme, subsidised lunches, free yoga and a wealth of well-being resources, just to name a few. Take a look at our Work for Greenpeace pages to find out more about what it’s like to work for us and why you should apply.
