Working closely with the Deputy CEO and appointed Marketing Consultant, this role will support the delivery and management of digital marketing content and channels, whilst constantly striving to identify new opportunities to help the charity to exceed against their digital marketing strategy and objectives.

Key tasks and Objectives will include:

  • To manage social media, including the execution of daily content scheduling, posts, stories, and reels. The role will be required to create compelling content, using a variety of media, across all social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok.
  • Working with the appointed Marketing Consultant to establish and implement a robust and methodical social media strategy. Included will be the conceptualising, creating and delivery of an effective social media content plan, taking into account the channel-specific requirements, our charity objectives and audiences, in order to generate greater engagement.
  • To update website content on a regular basis. This will specifically be the rescue story pages, writing blog copy on specific wildlife issues, and items in the shop. The role will be required to construct the rescue stories using emotive copy and strong visuals.
  • To develop content strategies and create content that fits into the overall marketing strategy, to support the goals and objectives of the charity.
  • This role will be required for maintaining brand integrity across all platforms, and will, on occasion, be required to design literature and assets for both online and offline purposes.
  • To help grow our online presence, this position will take an active role in advancing our SEO and Google Ads work by supporting the appointed Marketing Consultant and liaising with an external advertising agency.
  • The role will provide support (when required) in developing video and image content to deliver marketing and fundraising materials.
  • The role will be responsible for providing social media reports to highlight KPIs, including engagement, reach, referrals and performance against charity objectives.
  • To be responsible for promoting WAF clothing products delivered through a Teemill Print on Demand Partnership.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years’ marketing or design experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of all key social platforms.
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience using InDesign, Photoshop (or similar)
  • An understanding of film-making practices and software (i-Movie, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator)
  • Previous experience with website content management systems
  • Knowledge of Google Ads, keyword research and SEO are desirable but not essential.
  • To be proficient in using Google Analytics to provide analysis on the delivery of activity.
  • Up to date knowledge on marketing and advertising policies and legislation.
  • Flexible creativity, excellent written and visual storytelling capability
  • Strong research and proofreading skills

The role reports directly to both the Deputy CEO and appointed Marketing Consultant, who will offer support and guidance when required.

Based at our HQ in Leatherhead, Surrey. Potential to offer some flexible working, but due to the nature of our work we require this role to be predominantly on-site, to cover rescues and stories.

Salary circa £23,000 – £26,000 FTE commensurate with experience

Full-time 37.5 hours per week

Please note that this role will involve occasional out-of-hours working (including evenings and weekends) and on-call duties to ensure that the Foundation’s social media channels are active and monitored at peak times and during events.
