Digital Marketing Manager, Video Lead

What’s the role?

We are looking for a goal-oriented Digital Marketing Manager focusing on our Video and Display marketing channels to join our Growth Marketing Team in Brooklyn.

This person will serve as our Google (YouTube & Display) and TikTok media strategy lead, connecting various data points to implement a full-funnel marketing strategy for Etsy. Being accustomed to leading and optimizing performance campaigns with specific direct response goals (return on investment, LTV), translating paid media and creative strategy needs into concrete plans with agencies and internal partners, and implementing those plans to reach Etsy buyers around the world.

This role requires an understanding of multi-touch attribution systems and processes to use that attribution in optimization. Having expertise in what video content moves the needle is a must-have, with large scale product feed experience as an added benefit.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager for Social, Video, and Display. This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub may be the first to be considered.

What’s this team like at Etsy?

The Performance Marketing team is responsible for converting new buyers and driving existing buyers to shop more frequently on the Etsy website and apps. We lead all aspects of the Global strategy and execution across a mix of demand capture and demand generation channels to deliver measurable results. Our team is part of the larger Growth Marketing function within the Marketing org.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Supports Etsy’s global growth marketing program towards ambitious performance goals around return on lifetime value and habitual buyer creation
  • Lead external agencies and technologies effectively; amplifying service/offerings and recognizing needs for strategic guidance/gaps in internal resources
  • Deliver reporting, insights, and forecasts that accurately and appropriately measures channel performance on a daily through annual basis
  • Collaborate with internal, cross-functional partners to strengthen the performance marketing program, such as pixel implementation, audience definitions and optimization with engineering
  • Partner with content marketing team to develop strategies across channels, leading creative decisions and testing ideas
  • Stay on top of the always-evolving digital marketing landscape, from industry news to emerging technology, with an emphasis on the mass impacting privacy landscape
  • Develop strategies to optimize attributes and custom labels in our product feed to surface quality listings and enable feed-based add ons to ad campaigns.
  • Continuously QA product catalog set up to ensure efficient performance, while also developing strategies to optimize attributes and custom labels to surface quality listings in ad campaigns.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • 5+ years of shown success in leading all aspects of large-scale ($25M+) YouTube campaigns to specific return on investment goals
  • Deep familiarity with video-based, entertainment forward channels such as YouTube and TikTok.
  • Experience in e-commerce and multi-sided marketplaces (businesses with product catalogs of over 10k+ SKUs is preferred) with the ideal candidate having familiarity with leveraging large scale product feeds.
  • Expertise leading media strategy and influencing creative strategy to ensure performance is successful by meeting channel best practices
  • Ability to assess and communicate key strategic risks and opportunities
  • Knowledgeable across additional performance channels in the Google ecosystem such as Search, Shopping & GDA
  • Familiarity with data platform tools such as Looker, Mobius, or Google Analytics
  •  Expertise with sophisticated and advanced multi-touch attribution (MTA) models and optimize to that attribution, including with partners like Neustar, AppsFlyer, VisualIQ, etc.
  • Strong critical thinking skills coupled with a bias towards action so as to anticipate and navigate the constantly evolving marketing landscape
  • Natural collaborator who is able to build positive relationships across the company and drive decision-making
