Email Marketing Manager
Reporting to: Director, Performance Marketing

Toronto, Ontario

As Canada’s leading clothing retailer of high-end men’s wear based in Toronto and operating in major centres across Canada, an exciting and challenging opportunity exists in the Marketing Department. In this role, the successful candidate will be part of the Performance Marketing Team and will be responsible for leading a team to drive Strategy & Channel Performance, as the Email Marketing Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure in a well-established organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Email Marketing Strategy

  • Develop and execute the overall email marketing strategy in support of our overall business objectives
  • Provide thought leadership on email best practices and latest developments
  • Develop strategies to acquire new emails and reduce churn
  • Manage the email marketing calendar to drive business outcomes

Email Campaign Management

  • Review and approve all email communications ensuring accuracy, quality and adherence to email best practices
  • Continually seek to improve the efficiency of the email campaign process in partnership with other stakeholders including creative, brand, ecommerce, loyalty & data and analytics
  • Provide subject matter expertise for both email service providers (SendGrid & Segment)
  • Ensure all email programs are compliant with latest regulations
  • Manage the email marketing budget, ensuring email sends are within allocated agreements

Performance Analytics

  • Set key performance indicators for email channel including revenue and engagement targets
  • Share key insights and opportunities based off learnings from past email campaigns to inform future strategies

SMS Marketing

  • Develop a comprehensive SMS marketing strategy in support of key cross-functional initiatives
  • Lead the onboarding and implementation of SMS marketing becoming a subject matter expert

Customer Lifecycle Journey

  • Identify customer segments and areas of opportunity that can be supported through automated communications
  • Develop customer journeys to support the customer lifecycle
  • Manage projects and vendors that can help drive continuous improvement within email and SMS marketing

Other duties and Projects  – as assigned

The successful candidate will bring the following skills:

  • Degree/Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business or other relevant field
  • 5+ years of related experience  – specifically in Email Marketing
  • Experience in leading strategy, team and email projects
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for email creation is considered an asset
  • Past experience in retail or fashion is also preferred
  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytically inclined; ability to synthesize and effectively communicate client data
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team and across functions
  • Technically proficient using MS Office, including using formulas and pivot tables in Excel
