Understanding our clients and how they interact with us is key to everything we do at Hargreaves Lansdown from product development through acquisition and servicing. We put our clients first and ensure we deliver an outstanding experience with every single interaction.


We’ve seen a huge growth of 130% in the volume of traffic to our website and mobile apps over the last three years. We now collect data on 1.4 billion interactions per year and unlocking the huge potential value of this data is where you come in.


Key to your role will be the identification of trends, actions and pain points across the Hargreaves Lansdown website and mobile apps with a view how to we can improve the client experience and commercial performance.


You will receive full and extensive training on the latest in digital analytical tools and techniques as well as benefit from the experience of the existing team. This is an incredible opportunity for someone to kick start their career as a Digital Analyst


This role is ideal for someone with a keen interest in all things digital and a natural curiosity & appreciation of how data can help solve real-world problems


What we’re really looking for is a quick, adaptable learner with a commercial and analytical flare.


The role sits within the Client Insight & Data team, a group of cross discipline analytics specialists at the core of our marketing department who are responsible for

  • Developing our understand of our clients and our addressable audience
  • Understanding how, why and when our clients interact with us across every touch point
  • Creating models that predict what our clients might do next and targeting them appropriately
  • Measuring and understanding the performance of the department and the business as a whole

Data is key to everything we do at Hargreaves Lansdown and through close collaboration with the rest of the department and the wider business, your insights and analysis will contribute to the future of one of the UK’s most successful companies.


Key duties and responsibilities: 

  • Proactively identify, analyse and distribute insights relating to the performance of the HL website and mobile apps
  • Supporting stakeholders across the department by answering adhoc requests, drawing actionable insights and providing recommendations
  • Creating reports, dashboards and visualisations to make data accessible to the department
  • Analysing A/B or multivariate digital experience tests



Essential skills and experience:

Degree in numerate discipline (e.g. mathematics/statistics/economics) 

Basic understanding of investments and savings and financial advice 

Some experience of analysing data and presenting relevant conclusions

Ability to analyse, model and interpret data

MS Office (particularly Word and Excel)

Able to demonstrate a genuine interest in digital/web technologies

Numerate & methodical mind set.

Patient, diligent and diplomatic.

Ability to manage workload and priorities. 

Commercially minded

Desirable skills and experience:

Masters/PHD in numerate discipline 

Relevant certification in digital analytical tools 

Detailed knowledge of financial services and investments

Understanding of web analytics tools such as Adobe or Google Analytics

Data visualisation & storyboarding

Pro-active, confident communicator 

Ability to simply convey complex concepts
