The Social Media Specialist will develop, coordinate and manage a variety of content campaigns designed to engage and increase followers, primarily across Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. 


 The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in development and management of social media properties, either for a large consumer facing organization, or working within an agency managing social media for a number of clients.


 HL have a strong internal content and PR team, so demonstrable experience collaborating with teams to produce content targeting specific audiences would be a distinct advantage. 


A key element of the role is championing social media within the organisation to ensure the channel features within HL marketing managers’ plans, so a passion for all things social would be a great asset. The heavy lifting of social moderation responses is handled by a dedicated helpdesk resource, however, this role will be involved in some elements of framing messages and ensuring the tone of these responses are suitable for social media channels. 


As part of the role you will assist in curating content from key investment focused publishing partners through our Newsroom service, therefore an understanding of investment and finance is desirable. HL is a data driven company so hands-on experience developing insights from social listening along with a good understanding of digital analytics across channels would be a sought-after skill.


Key duties and responsibilities

  • Engage and grow HL’s audience on (among others) Twitter , Facebook and Linkedin
  •  Scheduling and posting content within content calendar
  • Collaborating with content teams to produce engaging channel specific content
  • Weekly and monthly reporting on channel performance
  • Define and drive the social media strategy


What are we looking for?

We are looking for the following skills and experience:- 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with some digital, marketing or UX-based qualification
  • A Financial Services background
  • Experience of Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategy
  • Experience of managing social media and PR presence
  • Experience of copywriting and marketing campaign planning
  • HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Adobe Analytics
  • Experience of working with content management systems (CMS)
