Job Description

We are a leading digital marketing company who need an experienced Senior SEO executive to join our quietly cool business. The team is the heart of ActiveWin’s range of digital and technical services.

We need to maximise the performance of SEO campaigns through monitoring and optimising the organic channel of our in-house brands and brand partners like Betfred.

In this hands-on senior SEO role, you will be responsible for covering both on-page and technical SEO and you will be working on building, maintaining and improving search rankings.

We’re looking for individuals who can work creatively and collaboratively to solve problems in a dynamic and fast-paced manner and share your findings with other people in the company, including senior stakeholders.

 

A week in the life of as our new senior SEO executive might look like this:

  • Assist in executing a new SEO plan for our websites, incorporating all aspects of optimisation (technical, content, language, etc.)
  • Managing and supporting the SEO Content Executives in ensuring all on page web copy is properly optimised for search
  • Scouring sites for opportunities to ramp up SEO effectiveness
  • Identify keywords that convert
  • Tweaking quality content that people love to read by sprinkling them with keywords that convert (and tagging them properly)
  •  Managing development work to make sure search engine crawlers love indexing our content
  • Meeting with management to develop strategies that rock our world

 

This job might be for you if:

  • You are passionate about SEO and wider digital activity
  • Have a strong written and verbal communications skills
  • You have strong analytical skills and are able to analyse data into meaningful action and diagnose problems to learn from them
  •  Project management tools such as Trello and managing work effectively

 

Technical Knowledge

  • Keyword Research and Analysis
  • You have a functional level of understanding of core web technologies, such as HTML, PHP, .NET, CSS, JavaScript
  • Producing regular audits of the performance of the website making recommendations using SEO skills and knowledge to grow traffic to the site
  • Undertake content and link audits and construct a content/link acquisition plan based on your findings
  • Produce detailed SEO reports as required detailing the impacts made by your work
  • Complete regular audits of various technical elements of the sites

 

Skills & Knowledge

  •  Significant experience within an SEO role, ideally based in an agency
  •  An in-depth understanding of search engines, search engine optimisation and factors that influence high rankings in Google
  •  In-depth knowledge of Google Analytics and Search Console
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point
  •  Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to manage workload across a wide range of clients
  •  Have a firm grasp of technical jargon
  •  Keep abreast of best practice SEO and embed them in all strategies
  • Can further your SEO skills through self-study
  • Familiarity with various website platform like Umbraco, WordPress and/or Magento
  • Knowledge of Digital Marketing basics SEO/content/Social
  •  Be comfortable with SEO tools & software such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Log File Analyser, etc.

 

It would be really cool if you:

  •  Have at least two years’ experience in SEO, either agency or client side
  •  Have your own website or blog showing off your work, stories, articles or rants
  • Can send us a link to aforementioned website or blog so we can have a shufti.
  • Could explain the basics of SEO to our copywriters so they could write exceptionally good blog posts that rank well
  • Adobe Design Studio knowledge would be the icing on the cake
  • Knowledge of CRO and UX basics gets you a few extra bonus points
