What you will be doing:

You will be marketing direct to consumers (B2C) and working in our Marketing Communications team.


You will manage the communications for either our financial advice service or our own range of investment funds and solutions. These areas are increasingly important to our business and you will play a key role in driving their growth. 


You will be in charge of the communications that promote your area. You will be coming up with fresh and innovative marketing ideas. You will be producing clear and compelling content for all online and offline channels.


You’ll work in a squad with a graphic designer, an insight analyst, a campaign manager and digital marketing specialists. You’ll share and develop ideas and help each other to deliver knockout campaigns. You’ll work closely and quickly, ensuring a constant flow of new content.


We avoid using agencies where possible, so you will be able to see the difference your hard work makes.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Write communications that promote our financial advice service or our own range of funds and fund solutions
  • Spot opportunities and come up with new and innovative marketing ideas and campaigns
  • Produce clear and compelling communications for all online and offline channels, including email, web, social, mailings and newsletters. You will be responsible for the message, the look and feel, the content, the accuracy and the effectiveness
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients and target market. You will understand how they think, what they want and what makes them tick. We will help you become an expert in your area and develop detailed product and technical knowledge
  • Work closely with a graphic designer, data analyst, campaign manager and digital marketing specialists to ensure your campaigns are delivered on time and to the highest standard. Share ideas with your colleagues and listen to and help develop their ideas
  • Ensure all communications are accurate, clear, fair, not misleading and comply with the HL Financial Promotions Manual. Work closely with the Technical and Financial Promotions Compliance teams to ensure this


Essential skills and experience:

  • Strong graduate degree or relevant marketing qualification
  • A broad understanding and experience of marketing, particularly direct marketing
  • Online and offline copywriting of the highest standard
  • Marketing a specific product or service and understanding the needs of a target audience
  • Working as part of a marketing team and managing multiple campaigns
  • Entrepreneurial and a superb communication
  • Manage own workload, meet tight deadlines and perform under pressure
  • Ability to spot opportunities, generate ideas and progress them to implementation
  • Highly organised, reliable and attentive
  • Hardworking, quick to learn and a team player


Desirable skills and experience:

  • Marketing- or financial services-based degree
  • Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning – you will be encouraged to work towards this qualification and receive support
  • Knowledge of investments, pensions and HL’s products
  • Financial services industry experience
