The position of Chief Marketing & Brand Officer is a unique opportunity to shape the HL brand and drive the Marketing Department into the future, towards our strategic goal of becoming a household name.  

You will be responsible for creating innovative marketing programmes, propositions and solutions that generate revenue for the entire organisation using market research, pricing, product marketing and innovative propositions, marketing communications, advertising and external public relations.

Your primary focus will be on customer acquisition, proposition development, solution development, brand development, and deepening customer engagement and experience.

Marketing is one of our three core focus areas, giving you scope to have a real impact across the company.


What will the role involve?

As a key member of the senior leadership team you will report directly to the CEO and will regularly participate in Main Board and Executive Committee meetings.

There will be a particular focus on :

  • Business growth driven by brand measures around awareness, brand affinity, consideration and decision to purchase.
  • Strong understanding of clients’ needs, and how products / services serve those needs, so that we can effectively recruit new clients as well as deepen relationships with those that we already serve.
  • The ability to deliver a full marketing mix of above and below line programmes based around acquisition and brand building. Being recognised as an effective brand and commercial leader around the Main Board and Executive Committee table with the ability to influence more broadly across the business.  

What would you be responsible for?

As the Chief Marketing & Brand Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Shaping the HL brand – creating and implementing a best-in-class marketing strategy.
  • Developing a best-in-class go-to-market approach – developing marketing programmes using data analytics and insight techniques.
  • Driving customer engagement and identifying key opportunities.
  • Building a market-leading marketing capability – developing the marketing team and managing the in-house creative resource, as well as external agency relationships.
  • Amplifying our ‘customer first’ philosophy – ensure customer experience remains at the heart of what we do and drive customer data integrity.
  • Enhancing our existing segmentation strategy – developing awareness and clear messages to target market segments, leverage data and analytics and provide market research and intelligence on HL’s customer and prospect markets Being the voice of marketing inside and outside of HL – operating effectively as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, acting as an ambassador for the brand and customer, leading and inspiring the marketing function.

Requirements

What are we looking for?

You will be experienced in consumer marketing with an awareness of acquisition and retention models.

Your career to date will demonstrate commercial success in top and bottom line growth. As the Chief Marketing & Brand Officer you will be a strong people leader with a track record of attracting and developing talent.

You will have exposure across brand management, creative development and digital marketing.

Your ability to manage and influence stakeholders will be critical to your success, you must be able to take stakeholders on a journey and secure buy in across all levels.
