This is a fantastic opportunity to join our 15 strong team of marketeers, working collaboratively across creative, paid and organic social to improve Next’s off-site footprint as a Senior Social Content and Channel Executive.

With 3+ years experience working in social media, you will know how to create best in class brand social content whilst identifying new ways to innovate and engage our audience. You will be responsible for overseeing and leading the planning of Next’s social media channels, ensuring content is both commercial and optimised for maximum engagement, relevant to our audience and in line with business objectives.

This role is based at our Tottenham Court Road office and you must be willing to work flexibly from home and 2 days in the office per week.


  • Oversee all output produced by the executives, ensuring content is relevant and ready for approval by the Social & Content Manager in a timely manner.
  • Line manage 2 executives and 1 assistant to ensure tasks are being performed in an adequate and timely manner, whilst coaching and developing their skills.
  • Collaborate with performance marketing channels to provide, brief or create assets that translate key messages into best-in-class advertising content.
  • Align with the PR team to ensure celebrity, ambassador and paid influencer assets are optimised for social.
  • Oversee and lead weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for performance, listening and testing. Implement learnings based on report findings to ensure all content is optimised to meet or exceed set KPIs.
  • Research and present competitor activities and new technology to ensure Next is at the forefront of innovation and brand elevation.
  • Be the team champion for creative innovation and drive momentum for creative brainstorming.
  • Lead video content creation for social and test new content briefs and formats. Support the team by creating and overseeing content creation for all channels, specifically stories, reels and TikTok.
  •  Project manage shoots from end to end, including briefs, concepts and attending shoots.
  • Utilise and brief influencer content creation and marketing to benefit overall social KPIs.
  • Manage external briefs with agency partners, creating clear communication and strong relationships.

About you:

  • 3+ years experience working in social media with a good understanding of social best practice within retail, developing and implementing social and content strategies.
  • History and experience of line management, helping develop skills and providing support.
  • Experience of working on all the following channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat and YouTube.
  • Prior experience working for a fashion and/or lifestyle brand.
  • Able to work cross functionally across various teams such as PR, performance, product, brand and trade teams.
  • Confident to lead meetings and present learnings back to key stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Be willing to attend all events, shoots and social engagements on behalf of the social team when and if required.
  • Ability to be self motivated, creative and ideas driven.
  • Avid social media user with knowledge of all major social networking channels, understanding of current trends and ability to create content fit for channels.
  • Extensive knowledge of social media listening and analytical tools with the ability to take learnings into insights and actionalable changes.
  • Extensive experience of planning, content ideation and implementation of campaign schedules with exceptional planning and organisation skills
  • Exceptional copywriting skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of working on influencer content briefs.
  • Ability to create strong and dynamic relationships and have the confidence to liaise with key stakeholders i.e. buyers, online marketing, external brands / platforms.
  • Excellent time management, ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
  • Able to resolve problems proactively using own initiative and acting quickly within a fast-moving environment.
  • Highly communicative with an ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
  • Analytically-minded with experience in performance monitoring.
  • A keen interest in fashion, lifestyle and beauty – plus observant of emerging trends.
  • Well versed in using a variety of social media tools.
  • Competent user of editing software i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Canva or similar.
  • Take full responsibility for your role and ability to manage upwards
